Sheikh Sultan issues Emiri Decree to reorganise Sharjah Women's Sports

The Decree states that the SWS shall enjoy independent legal personality and full legal capacity to carry out all necessary legal action to fulfil its objectives

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree concerning the reorganisation of the Sharjah Women's Sports (SWS).

The Decree states that the SWS shall enjoy independent legal personality and full legal capacity to carry out all necessary legal actions to fulfil its objectives.

It will function as an independent government entity with both financial and administrative autonomy.

Under the Decree, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, will chair the SWS. An experienced and qualified adviser in the SWS' field of work will support her.

The headquarters will be based in the city of Sharjah, with the possibility of establishing branches in other cities and regions of the Emirate as per the chairperson's decision.

The SWS is tasked with the number of core objectives like supporting the sports sector comprehensively and advancing women's sports across the UAE, with a particular focus on Sharjah:

Showcasing the achievements of Emirati sportswomen and enabling their participation in leadership roles and global competitions.
