Sales manager cleared of leaking company data

Dubai Court of Appeal has upheld the ruling of the Court of First Instance acquitting an Asian sales manager of charges related to exploiting confidential information from his employer for the benefit of a competing company.

According to the case file, the company alleged that the manager leaked customer data via his email and IT systems to a rival firm, with the aim of direct the company's clients to the competitor for personal financial gain, thereby harming his employer's interests.

The prosecution's case was based on statements from a company official and witnesses, as well as a forensic report indicating WhatsApp conversations and emails which supported the complainant's claims.
