Northeast monsoon active, wreaks havoc in Kerala

Authorities on Monday warned tourists visiting Kerala's hill stations to remain vigilant as heavy rains have been lashing the entire state for the fifth consecutive day, causing significant destruction.
-
The hilly district of Idukki has already suffered extensive damage from the preceding northwest monsoon. The rainfall has also triggered minor mudslides in various regions.
The relentless overnight rains have washed out major roads, downed power lines, and severely disrupted traffic, mobile networks, and internet services.
Residents in areas prone to landslides, mudslides, and mountain floods began relocating to camps and safer areas, following instructions.
