Man obligated to return over Dhs270,400 to woman

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court obligated a man to pay Dhs270,400 plus a Dhs50,000 compensation to a woman in a fraud case.

The defendant met the victim through a social media app after impersonating someone else, presenting her with a fake family and leading her to believe that he was about to begin engagement procedures. He, however, continued to exploit her with several reasons and excuses including his mother’s illness until he stopped communicating with her, closed his accounts and refused to respond to her.
