Court orders man to pay woman over Dhs1.05m

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court upheld a ruling obligating a man to pay a woman Dhs1.051375 million including Dhs50,000 as compensation, in a case of fake investment. The case dates back to when a woman filed a lawsuit demanding a man to return Dhs1,083,657, along with Dhs616,809 as bank interest accrued on a loan she took out and transferred to his account.

She also sought Dhs100,000 in compensation for the damages incurred, a 19% delay interest from the date of the lawsuit, and legal fees, The woman alleged that the man deceived her by promising to invest her money and obtain profits. Based on this, she transferred Dhs1,083,657 to his bank account in multiple installments.

Initially, she informed him she lacked sufficient funds, but he persuaded her to take out a bank loan, promising to repay it with interest.
