157,000 citizens work in private sector: Nafis

The number of citizens working in the private and banking sectors has increased from 99,000 to more than 157,000 citizens in just four years, with a record growth of 4378, according to Ghannam Al Mazroui, Secretary General of the UAE Competitiveness Council “Nafis”.

Al Mazroui explained that the number of private sector establishments in which citizens work has increased from 7,000 to more than 30,000, which contributed to reaching a completion rate of 92% of the programme's objectives.

He pointed to a significant increase in the number of citizens registered in the private sector with pension funds and bodies by 245% between 2022 and 2025, noting that “Nafis” expanded training and development programmes through many qualitative initiatives.
