LPG price hiked by Rs50 per cylinder

Additional duties on petrol and diesel will not be passed on to consumer: Minister

The price of LPG cylinders has been increased by Rs50 per 14.2kg cylinder for subsidised and non-subsidised consumers, with effect from today.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said yesterday that the price increase applies to both Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries as well as other consumers.
“For PMUY beneficiaries, the price will rise from Rs500 to Rs550 per cylinder. For other consumers, it will increase from Rs803 to Rs853,” the minister said.
Periodic review
He added that the revision is subject to the periodic review that takes place every two to three weeks.
