First session of Sharjah's new Court of Cassation

The newly established Court of Cassation — Sharjah's highest court convened its first session on Monday, marking a historic moment in the emirate's legal evolution under a new judicial authority law.

The inaugural sitting of the court follows the enactment of Law No (7) of 2025 on the Regulation of Judicial Authority. Issued by His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the law sets a comprehensive framework for the emirate's judiciary, positioning the Court of Cassation as the ultimate authority on legal appeals and interpretations.
