Dubai gold price surprises shoppers

The Dubai gold price has gained nearly Dh7 a gram early yesterday, delivering a jolt to shoppers who had been hoping for a third straight day of price softening.

The price of 22 carat gold hovered around Dh374.75 per gram, while 24 carat briefly crossed Dh400. Shoppers and gold sellers were hoping to see the price drop to around Dh360 for a 22 carat yesterday as tensions over US tariffs and the potential removal of Federal Reserve chair eased.
