Court battle over fake Global Village tickets

Young jobseeker became unwitting participant in the fraud, lawyer says

A group of defendants accused of defrauding a job seeker through the sale of counterfeit tickets to Dubai's Global Village has had their case sent back to the Court of Appeal by the Court of Cassation in Ras Al Khaimah.

The defendants allegedly used Instagram to mislead people into purchasing fake tickets, presenting the scheme as an official sales channel.

The suspects, along with an unidentified accomplice, managed to swindle a victim out of Dh2,400. They duped him by posing as representatives of a legitimate Global Village ticket-selling platform, tricking him into believing he was buying genuine tickets.
