PSPO WOULD PROHIBIT LIKES OF RACING AND DOUGHNUT STUNTS IN PARKS

Cllr Ron Shepherd

The public could be soon consulted on a proposed Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) specifically covering nuisance vehicles.

It would prohibit the likes of racing and doughnut stunts in parks.

Consequences for not following the prohibitions include exclusion from an area for up to 24 hours, a £100 fixed penalty fine, or even potential prosecution at magistrates' court, where the fine could increase up to £1,000.

The council's community scrutiny panel meets today to discuss it, ahead of a cabinet meeting next week to decide whether to go to consultation.

A report ahead of the meetings details that the proposed PSPO has been developed with Humberside Police.

Their Operation Yellowfin officers would look to enforce it.
