Small improvements would help out cyclists

I WAS very surprised to see the cycle lanes around the A46/A417 roundabout, and I agree with John Franklin (Letters, May 29) that I would not naturally place myself within them.
-
The trickiest parts of this roundabout are the slip-roads on and off - I keep myself well into the middle of the lane to go past them.
Another tricky place is the free-flow slip-road from the A46 northbound onto the A417 westbound - I am always glad when I am clear of that.
