The recent disastrous floods in Jammu and Kashmir have caused large-scale destruction, leaving behind a trail of mud, debris, and stagnant water. In such circumstances, launching an immediate and comprehensive sanitation drive is not only essential but urgent for the health and safety of the affected population.

The interiors of these spaces are now filled with sludge and garbage, making it nearly impossible for people to resume normal life. More dangerously, stagnant water in open areas and potholes becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, poisonous reptiles, and other harmful insects. If not dealt with quickly, this can lead to outbreaks of life-threatening diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and even plague-like infections.
