Robins well-beaten in season's final match

Contrary to last week's reports, for which the Somerset Guardian & Frome Standard can only apologise for any misunderstanding, Frome Town actually completed their Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South campaign on Saturday, however the relegated Robins were soundly beaten 4-0 by runners-up AFC Totton at Badgers Hill.
Frome had a few chances throughout the game which they couldn't convert, beginning with James Ollis in the 30th minute when a great save from Ryan Gosney parried an almost certain goal from a one-on-one situation.
Ethan Taylor had the visitors' first chance of the afternoon but he ballooned his attempt at a cross over the stadium.
Five minutes later, Totton took the lead when Taylor made amends and tapped the ball in. A second arrived just two minutes later as Thomas Blair struck a wonderful strike from long-range into the net.
Totton were 3-0 ahead inside just 16 minutes when a corner was headed in by Taylor, before Blair all but completed proceedings just after the half hour mark.
With half-time approaching, Seb Tylek was brought on to replace fellow glovesman Kyle Phillips. Frome showed heart in the second period in their final appearance at this level of the pyramid for at least a season, with Ollis making some dangerous runs into the box.
With time ticking away, the Robins were unable to make anything out of their chances as Totton eased into a comfortable win.
