Govt launches affordable housing schemes

These initiatives mark a significant step towards inclusive, modern, and affordable urban housing for all in the state

UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, on Monday, launched the Model Rajasthan Building Regulations — 2025, along with five housing schemes by the RHB and three by JDA, during an event at the JDA premises.

Principal Secretary, UDH, Vaibhav Galriya, explained that the new regulations were formulated after a thorough study of building by-laws from other states. The regulations emphasize public safety and facilitate the construction of high-rise buildings, aligning with the vision of both the central and state governments to promote affordable housing for citizens.

JDA Commissioner Anandhi announced that the JDA is inviting online applications for 765 residential plots, to be allotted through a transparent lottery system. The three schemes—Ganga Vihar, Yamuna Vihar, and Saraswati Vihar—are designed to fulfill the housing aspirations of economically weaker and middle-income groups.
