ELEVEN YEARS OF MODI IN DELHI
First India Jaipur
|May 26, 2025
On 26 May 2014, Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India, and on 26 May 2025, he completed a journey of eleven years, which has come out of very few leaders in the history of Indian democracy.
-
Usually, we assess the achievements of the government after the first year, five years and after a full tenure - because five years a symbol of the perfection of a democratic cycle, and ten years gives the strength and stability of an ideology.
Today's special day, when most of the commentators are busy with political achievements, public welfare schemes, their success and public publicity, I have dared to take a different view. I want to ask all of you - why? Why are eleventh year, eleventh numbers and eleventh digits so special for us? Is there any such magic of eleven in our cultural heritage and collective consciousness, which shows us the way of history as well as the future? Are we able to see it only from political perspective, or do that intensive intellect of our ancient roots also explains the importance of this special occasion? And is this question not just the investigation of tomorrow, but also the invaluable learning to decide the direction of tomorrow?
This thinking inspires us to think and understand from a new perspective today that this journey of eleven years is not just a number, but a precious identity of Indian civilization and leadership.
