Conflict of interest panel report likely next week: Pandey

THE HIGH-LEVEL COMMITTEE tasked with comprehensively reviewing the Securities and Exchange Board of India's conflict of interest norms for its board members and executives and suggesting new guidelines will "certainly" submit its report this month, Sebi Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey told FE.

"Whatever I know, the committee will give its support very soon. It could be next week or so, certainly within this month," he said.

The markets regulator approved the formation of the high-level committee in the first board meeting under Pandey, after his predecessor, Madhabi Puri Buch, had faced allegations of conflict of interest in the regulator's investigation into Hindenburg's accusations against the Adani Group.
