PFRDA to launch schemes for gig workers, MSMEs

THE PENSION FUND Regulatoryand Development Authority(PFRDA)is looking to launch more schemes targeting four verticals including gig workers, micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs), Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO) and self help groups (SHGs), said PFRDA Chairman S Ramannat Global Fintech Fest 2025 on Wednesday.

The body is also considering to include commodities in the scope of investment guidelines.

“We certainly have a roadmap going ahead. It's already drawn out four different verticals in which we are planning to go deep, he said.

“Our aim to target gig workers. This is a great way to move forward because they are informal workers and nobody has looked at their larger saving interests.
