Rekha Sethi, the director general of the All India Management Association (AIMA) - the apex body for management profession in India - is of the opinion that despite poor placements at business schools last year, the MBA degree isn't at risk. "It's in transition," she says. In an interview with FE's Vikram Chaudhary, she shares how the AIMA is contributing to this change through its own unique courses. Excerpts:

Last year, placements at even top B-schools were under pressure, and reportedly some IIMs struggled to get good jobs for all their students. Is the MBA at risk?

The MBA isn't at risk; it's in transition. To mitigate new-age business challenges, we need to create new thinking - and the role of the MBA is to do precisely that, through its curriculum, teaching methodology, industry and societal interactions, meaningful academic transactions, and so on.
