Under-performing districts to get attention for farming

PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana will run for six years and is expected to support around 17 mn farmers

THE COUNTRY'S 100 most backward agricultural districts will be brought on par with other farming regions through the implementation of the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY), Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday. "If a little help is given to those farmers in 100 districts under the scheme, then the farmers there will also be on par with other farmers of India," Modi said.
