Tata firm begins satcom trials with Eutelsat OneWeb

AS PREPARATIONS GATHER pace for the rollout of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite services in India, Tata Group-backed satcom firm Nelco has begun proof-of-concept trials and demonstrations with Eutelsat OneWeb for enterprise and institutional customers, even as it awaits regulatory clearances for commercial operations.

“We have been doing demos and proof-of-concepts through this partnership. We cannot sell commercially before the government’s go-ahead but from a readiness standpoint, the ecosystem is largely in place,” PJ Nath, MD & CEO, Nelco, said during an interaction with FE.
