A Relief Likely
The Department of Consumer Affairs has urged retailers to reduce pulse prices in line with the recent decline in mandi (wholesale) prices, ensuring that consumers benefit from lower costs.
Sources told FE that while the prices of tur, masur, chana, moong, yellow peas, and urad have declined by 5-20% in wholesale markets over the past few months, retail prices remain firm.
According to the price monitoring cell of the consumer affairs department, the benchmark modal retail prices of tur, urad, and masoor remained unchanged on Saturday at ₹160/kg, ₹120/kg, and ₹90/kg respectively compared to prices prevailing three months back.
