The season has again been an example of how we do things differently here at Exeter

THE end is in sight. It's been yet another season of highs and lows, but we've done it!
We've maintained our League One status and, in the autumn will begin our fourth year in the third tier of English football - which, if you ask me, is an incredible achievement and our most successful for many, many years.
Our final match of the season sees the team head up to Mansfield Town on Saturday and there's still the opportunity - if results go our way - to better last year's finish, which will be fantastic.
We don't have the huge budgets of other clubs, so our progress is always small steps and incremental improvements.
But if you rate performance against playing budget - ours is second lowest in the league then we are continuing to knock it out of the park.
Gary, the playing staff, and the team, have done an amazing job - but one thing's for sure, it isn't going to get any easier!
As ever the season has been an example of how we have to do things differently here at Exeter City and whether that's through loan players, bringing players in who might be recovering from injury, or hunting down targets in the lower leagues, we always have to think outside of the box.
They were tactics which certainly paid off with the sale of Milli Alli to Luton Town, but maybe not so great when Tristan Crama was recalled right at the end of the transfer window, putting a seriously large Frenchman-sized hole in our defence!
