Baxter delighted to tie down Brown-Bampoe

EXETER Chiefs boss Rob Baxter is backing Paul Brown-Bampoe to become an international star after he penned a contract extension at Sandy Park.

The explosive 23-year-old winger has enjoyed a rapid rise in the professional game after joining the club just a year ago, ending it as the club's top try scorer, despite a month on loan at National One side Plymouth Albion.

But after returning from the Brickfields just after Christmas, Brown-Bampoe became a permanent fixture in the Chiefs' backline and while he was overlooked by England head coach Steve Borthwick for England's upcoming summer tour of Argentina and the United States, Baxter feels it is a matter of time before he breaks onto the international scene.

"It's fantastic news that Paul has decided to extend his contract with us. He was clearly one of our key performers this season," Baxter said.
