Williams: Euro glory just the beginning for this unique team

SPAIN players warned last night this was just the start for their talented crop of youngsters, who are targeting more glory at the World Cup in two years.
Mikel Oyarzabal’s 86th-minute goal saw Spain crowned European champions for a record fourth time, and the squad were this morning flying back home for a parade in Madrid.
Spain were deserved winners of Euro 2024 and their future looks bright with stars Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams added to world-class talent such as Rodri. Attentions are already turning to the 2026 World Cup, and Williams said: “This team is unique. We have made history. We are all pulling in the same direction and it shows. We have won, but the best thing is that we have recovered from difficult situations. We have suffered like animals.
