Rees-Mogg blasts 'finest fantasy' of Sunak's pledge for 4% tax cut

ONE of Liz Truss's biggest Cabinet supporters today branded Rishi Sunak's plans to cut income tax as the "finest fantasy".
In a bid to close the gap on front-runner Ms. Truss, the former chancellor unveiled plans earlier this week to cut income tax to 16p in the pound by the end of the next Parliament, which could be in December 2029. The move came after he also announced plans to reduce VAT on energy bills, sparking claims he had U-turned on tax.
