IT HAS been 25 years since Kylie Minogue played Shepherd's Bush Empire. During her last rodeo, the cowboy-themed Intimate and Live tour, the Australian icon was on the cusp of taking control of her destiny, branching out into collaborations with indie figureheads like Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield and getting more heavily involved in the creative process.
Now back on the same stage, as a true powerhouse of pop, Minogue snuck in a nod to a gig that felt like a turning point. Along with her hits, she also gave a rare live performance of that era's twinkling and underrated electronica track Breathe.
The one-off gig-a balloted show for a lucky few 02 and Virgin Media Priority customers also saw famous fans in the crowd including Alison Hammond, Louise Redknapp and Alex Scott, below left.
