Festive bargain hunters told to shop local to boost economy

Local residents are being encouraged to support West Lothian businesses where they can this festive period.

It is an important time to many small and independent retailers, some of whom rely on the additional business generated at this time of year to remain sustainable.

According to the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES), 70p from every £1 spent with an independent retailer stays in the local economy.
