Mum woken by screams after men try to enter daughters' hotel room

A MUM has recalled being woken up by screaming in the middle of the night after a group of men tried to enter her daughters’ hotel room.

Lisa Armstrong booked a two-night stay at The Royal Hotel off Drummond Road, Skegness, aiming to enjoy a weekend away with her mum and two daughters from Friday, June 5, to Sunday, June 7.

The 50-year-old is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy as treatment for breast cancer, and says she was looking forward to a relaxing trip with her family. However, they were left too scared to sleep.

Lisa was woken up around midnight on the night of Saturday, June 6, to screaming.

She told Lincolnshire Live: “At about 12 o'clock all I could hear was my daughter screaming. My phone was ringing and it’s my youngest daughter ‘mum, mum, mum men are trying to get in the door”

Lisa rushed out of her own room, which she was sharing with her mum, and heading to the neighbouring room being shared by her 17 and 30-year-old daughters.

They later found out that the hotel staff had attempted to check a group of men into the room, not realising it had already been checked into by the family. The hotel has described it as a “technical error”

Lisa, of Leicestershire, said: “We found out that the manager has given the room away to four men and gave them the pin number.
