Charity in crisis as it struggles to balance the books

A CHARITY that provides specialist care across Lincolnshire says it is experiencing a financial crisis.

St Barnabas Hospice is the leading charity in the county for providing palliative and end-of-life care to adults living with a life-limiting or terminal illness, and each year supports more than 12,000 people.

However, the charity, which receives just 44 per cent of its funds through statutory funding, says it is experiencing an increasingly uncertain time.

Rising costs mean it takes £40,000 per day to run the charity, and the recent National Insurance and National Living Wage increases have further impacted this.
