Thornhill woman set to complete her12 Big Things over the year

|October 24, 2025
A Thornhill woman is aiming for a big end to 2025.
Lorna Hellam took on the challenge of completing 12 Big Things over the course of the year to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention charities and families of people who have taken their own lives.
And as she approaches her final two Big Things—which involve extreme feats of endurance—she is looking for people to share their stories so she can carry them with her.
Lorna said:"I want to show that every number tells a story and I hope these challenges turn statistics into something people can feel, and act as a reminder that behind the number is a person, family and community.
“In November and December, I'd like to run with people's stories to give voice to the reasons I am doing this, to remember and raise awareness. If there is anyone affected by suicide, I would feel honoured to carry their story”.
