Service is a lifeline to people in region

The region's citizens’ advice service would likely close its doors for good if crucial funding from Dumfries and Galloway Council is withdrawn next year.
-
The organisation - a lifeline for thousands of vulnerable residents in Dumfries and Galloway - is a registered charity and relies on funding and donations to maintain provision of advice for people across the region.
Dumfries and Galloway Council is the primary funding partner, contributing £905,000 on an annual basis.
Not only does this investment support 66 jobs and 42 volunteers who are dealing with a large influx of needy people on a daily basis, but it also helps to clear million of pounds’ worth of debt for clients - and secures benefits that people in poverty are entitled to.
