Health boss issues flu vaccine plea

The health board is continuing its bid to help stem the rising number of flu cases in the region.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway public health consultant Keith Allan said hospital visits have been restricted to essential visits only, and has given tips on staying healthy-and keeping others safe -this winter.

He said:"Handwashing, wearing a mask when visiting others in hospital, and above all vaccination are the best ways to reduce your risk of falling ill or passing an infection onto someone else.

“Visiting in our hospitals is currently essential visiting only, and it must be arranged in advance with ward staff, who will advise on how to visit safely.
