Fire-ravaged derelict building goes on sale

THE fire-damaged Stoneleigh House in Folkestone's Tram Road has been put up for auction, with a guide price of £675,000.

Firefighters tackled a blaze in the derelict building in the Folkestone Harbour area back in August.

Stoneleigh House is a long term empty building that was once the premises for Bob Bailey Coaches and later became construction offices.

Plans to demolish the site and replace it with 14 affordable flats and parking were approved in 2019, but the proposed redevelopment work never began.

Local people said the building had become increasingly rundown in recent years.
