Needles at the ready - makers ready to finish off town artwork

MORE than 170 makers from across the town have taken part in Stitching Ashbourne, a large-scale community artwork celebrating Ashbourne’s people, heritage and sense of place.

As the project moves into its next phase, organisers have announced a final fundraising drive to raise the remaining £2,754 needed to complete the work.

The project has already received generous financial support from Ashbourne Methodist Church, St Oswald's Church, Ashbourne Arts, Ashbourne Town Council and, most recently, Ashbourne Rotary Club. Together, these contributions total £2,478 and have enabled materials to be purchased and all workshops to be offered free at the point of access.
