Freya's back on track in quest for Winter Olympics

WORLD CUP GOLD MEDAL A STUNNING REWARD AFTER COMEBACK FROM INJURY

FREYA Tarbit is gunning for the Winter Olympics on a high after a remarkable comeback from injury.

In July last year, the 24-year-old from Ockbrook, who competes in the skeleton, suffered a complete hamstring tendon rupture/avulsion fracture.

After having surgery to reattach the tendon, her summer training consisted mainly of rehabilitation and she didn’t return to the push track until a few weeks before pre-season.

There were many question marks about what her season would look like and if she would be able to participate in the first World Cup skeleton races in Asia.

But, following a successful rehab and pre-season, she was deemed fit enough to travel to South Korea for the first World Cup races, with no expectations in terms of results.
