DEVELOPER REVEALS MORE ON REFURB OF HISTORIC HALL

ANOTHER step towards deciding the future of a Derbyshire Grade II*- listed building has been taken, as new plans have shown.

A planning application has been submitted to Derby City Council detailing the proposed change of use of Allestree Hall to a wedding venue and guest accommodation.

Work has been under way to restore the 19th-century former country house since December 2024, after developer Staton Young acquired the building.

Staton Young is a family-owned property company based in Derbyshire which recently also acquired Horsley Lodge Golf Club, a complex which includes country hotels and wedding venues.

The company said it was “passionate” about the property and aims to restore the hall and stables with a “major investment”.
