GREAT-GRANDMOTHER CELEBRATES MILESTONE AFTER BUSY LIFE IN CITY

A MUCH-loved Derby great-grandmother celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday.
Constance Margaret Gibson, known to family and friends as Connie, was born and raised in Derby and has lived in the city all her life.
Born Constance Parker, she grew up on Leaper Street in the old West End before the family later moved to Brook Street.
Her fondest childhood memories are of being surrounded by her six brothers and one sister - all of whom she has sadly outlived.
Connie attended St Anne's School and left at 14 to start work at the Tape Mill lace factory on Leaper Street.
