THE 42nd annual Chatsworth Country Fair looks set to be as popular as ever with people arriving from an early hour yesterday on the first day of the three-day event.

If they had arrived at around 6am, they would have seen a large number of hot-air balloons take to the skies above the Peak District.

The number of balloons on the first day was smaller than usual because of the damp start but by the time most people started to come through the gates the sun had begun to shine, although some showers and more prolonged rain have been forecast throughout the weekend.
