Cata wants answers after fire at Nyanga taxi rank causes skade

MENSE across parts of Cape Town were left skarrelling for transport or stranded on Monday morning after Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) taxi operators downed tools, citing safety concerns following recent incidents affecting the industry.

The disruption hit commuters hardest in Nyanga, where taxi operators on the Seawater route marched to the Nyanga police station.

Many commuters reported being stranded during the peak morning hours, scrambling to find alternative transport to work and school.
