Lachlan stars as Leigh survive late rally

LACHLAN LAM pulled the strings as Leigh held off Huddersfield's late fightback.

The Papua New Guinea scrum-half was at the heart of the Leopards' best play as they ended a three-game losing sequence.

Lam scored one try and created two more as they powered into a 28-6 lead just before the hour mark.

But Giants hit back with tries from Adam Swift, Sam Halsall's 90m intercept and an effort from captain Leroy Cudjoe to leave the visitors desperately hanging on at the end.

There was no grandstand finish, though, as Luke Robinson's side were consigned to a 12th defeat in 13 Super League games this term.
