Hughes is eyeing Nunthorpe prize with speedy Sayidah
RICHARD HUGHES'S first Group One winner was a huge shock.
His second won't be if Sayidah Dariyan prevails in the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday.
The former two-time British champion Flat jockey, 52, won the 5f dash twice as a rider, scoring on Oasis Dream in 2003 and Sole Power in 2014, before turning to training the following year.
Over ten seasons in Lambourn, he achieved his biggest success with Calling The Wind in the 2023 Northumberland Plate.
