GAVIN & Stacey star Larry Lamb is launching a career as a poet.

The 78-year-old - who played Gavin's dad Mick Shipman in the BBC sitcom - began penning poems in the 1980s as a hobby.

He stumbled across the works in his loft and, after showing them to a poet pal, was inspired to write new ones.
