Djok avoids a shock and books titanic Jannik date

- by JEREMY CROSS

NOVAK DJOKOVIC set up a semifinal showdown with Jannik Sinner as part of his quest to win a record 25th Grand Slam title.

The seven-time Wimbledon champion had to come from behind to beat Flavio Cobolli 6-7 6-2 7-5 6-4 - and book a last-four clash with world No.1 Sinner.

Djokovic, 38, has now won 44 of his past 46 matches at SW19, but will start tomorrow's match as slight underdog.

But he admits taking on youngsters like Sinner, 23, is taking years off him as he looks to become the most successful player in history.

Djokovic said: “Wimbledon will always be the most special tournament we have in our sport, in my opinion.

“It means the world to me that at 38, I am able to play in the final stages of Wimbledon. Competing with youngsters makes me feel young. I enjoy running and sliding around the court.
