THE first small boat migrants have been held under the UK's new “one in, one out” deal with France.

They were detained following Channel crossings hours after the pilot scheme began on Wednesday.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, right, said she expected them “to start being returned in a matter of weeks”.
