FORECASTERS say there could be snow in late December raising hopes of a white Christmas.

The chances of it falling appear better than average this year, thanks to a polar plume set to make its way down and across Scotland on December 23.

Edinburgh is poised to see the white stuff in the lead-up to December 25.
