It's land of Open glory time

THE UK OPEN is one of my favourite tournaments of the year.

The 'FA Cup of Darts' will throw up its usual fair share of surprise results and that's the joy of this unique format.

There is no equivalent on the calendar, with PDC amateur qualifiers, players from the Development Tour Orders of Merit and current top 32 among the field.

Just like football's FA Cup, the stage is set in Minehead for giant-killings from players you may not have heard of, but who could be household names by the end of the week.
