Connor's dream to go one better than dad Kevin

CONNOR MITCHELL'S covert plot to keep his career choice secret from his dad fell apart after a grand total of seven days.

As an 11-year-old, the youngster struggled to deal with the pressure of being a boxer's son.

His father Kevin had been one of this country's most popular fighters, even if he did fall short of winning a world title.

Mitchell Jr set out to follow in his footsteps but couldn't shoulder the burden when he walked through the gym doors.

He threw in the towel, only to return years later on the sly - or so he thought.

"I would walk into gyms and people would say, 'That's Kevin Mitchell's son,' said Connor.
