EDWARDSTONE (2.40) can bounce back to his best in the Betfair Exchange Game Spirit Chase at Newbury today.
The former winner of the Arkle Trophy was put in his place by Jonbon on two occasions earlier in the season which included an excellent second in the Tingle Creek.
An experiment to see if he was effective over 2m 4f ended in bitter disappointment for trainer Alan King when he trailed in 25 lengths behind Banbridge in the Silviniaco Conti Chase.
Edwardstone did not help himself by pulling too hard and hanging in that race but it would appear a fast-run two miles is his optimum.
