Batsmen must pile on runs for coach says Vaughan

- MIKE WALTERS

MICHAEL VAUGHAN has warned England coach Brendon McCullum the "jungle drums are starting to beat" against the cult of 'Bazball' in white-ball cricket.

In tandem with captain Ben Stokes, McCullum's happy-camp vibes and freedom of expression have been largely a revelation in the Test arena.

But as England prepare for their Champions Trophy opener against Australia in Lahore on Saturday, Kiwi guru 'Baz' who took over from Matthew Mott as white-ball coach in the new year is still waiting for his first limited-overs series win.

Since their surrender of the 50-over World Cup in India. 15 months ago, Jos Buttler's one-day side has lost four series (against West Indies twice, Australia and India).

And Ashes legend Vaughan has reservations about McCullum and Buttler's squad in Pakistan, where England are in a difficult group with the Aussies and South Africa.
